Materials: Painted galvanized steel or 304 stainless steel.
Frame: 16 ga (1.61mm) steel up to and including 30” x 48” or 14ga (1.99mm) steel for larger sizes. Depth “D”= 2-1/4” (57mm)
Trim: Width - 7/8” (22mm) up to and including 36” x 36” or 1-1/4” (32mm) for larger sizes.
Door Panel: - 18 ga (1.31mm) with 22 ga (0.85mm) liner - Door widths up to 48” W. See FD2D for double leaf panels.
Insulation: The door panel contains 1-1/2” (38mm) of high temperature insulation material.
Finishes: Electrostatically-applied rust-inhibitive off-white prime coat or a No. 4 polished stainless steel finish on exterior surface.
Hinges: The concealed continuous rod hinge is designed to secure the door panel. The hinge is placed on the long side of the door (“H” dimension) unless otherwise requested. Note: Sizes greater than 48” in a wall position—continuous piano hinge is standard.
Panel Closer: The automatic panel closer will close and latch the door from an open position of approximately 90° as required by code.
Latch: The standard factory installed latch is a flush mount 1/4” allen key. All fire-rated locks are self-latching and include an interior latchrelease mechanism allowing the doors to be opened from the inside. The interior latch release is standard on doors including and exceeding 16”x 16”in size. Under 16”x 16”, interior latch is available as an option.
Walls - For openings with no dimension larger than 48", JL Standard Model FD Series for Walls. For Oversize Requirements Larger 48" through 60" in Height, specify the FD2 Series on this Web Page.
Ceilings - For openings up to 24" x 36", JL Standard Model FD Series for Ceilings. For Oversize Openings Wider than 24" or 36" in Height and up to 36" x 36" or 30" x 48", select the FD2 Series on this Web Page.
This model of wall and ceiling fire-rated panels is manufactured under the factory inspection service of Intertek Warnock Hersey) and have a label reading: “Listed access frame and insulated fire door assembly 2 hour fire rating. Vertical and Horizontal Installation. Temperature rise maximum 139° C / 250° F at 30 minutes, 250° C / 450° F at 60 minutes.”
